intuitThere were times when accountants had to keep record, of all cash flows, within a monstrous registers. It was not only difficult and strenuous but also used to consume millions of tons of paper all around the world every year.

However, the world witnessed a revolutionary change in 1983; when one smart guy came up with an alternative method for the traditional paper and pencil personal accounts keeping method. Scott Cook, while rendering his services to Procter and Gamble, was struck by this revolutionary idea with blaze. He immediately started working on his idea and after aggressive search for a programmer he ended up working with Tom Proulx.

Scott founded Intuit with the help of Tom and today it is a big name in the field of accounting and finance. Intuit is basically a company that has specialized over the past three decades in the field of finance and tax preparation software development for the accountants, small businesses and individuals’.

Quicken was the Intuit’s first product and faced sheer competition by Microsoft. Scot and Tom never gave up and keep diversifying Intuit’s product range. Today, there are dozens of financial tools that are developed and implemented by Intuit.  Some of these products are listed below:

  • Billing Manager
  • Go Payment
  • Quicken
  • Turbo Tax
  • Many more…

Inuit has been creating thousands of jobs in the US since its incorporation. Today, it has more than 8,500 employees and the number is growing with the expansion of the business. Inuit had the annual revenue stream of approximately $4.15 billion USD in 2012.

Scott had been to one of the most prestigious educational institutions, University of Southern California and Harvard Business Institute, during his academic career.  His hard work and determination has transformed Intuit into one of the Fortune 100 companies of the world.
