Nayib Bukele is a Salvadoran politician and businessman who is the 43rd President of El Salvador since 1 June 2019.

Bitcoin in El Salvador has been adopted as legal tender in 2021 following Bukele’s bill. El Salvador is the first country in the world to adopt Bitcoin as legal tender.

President Nayib Bukele is known to “buy the dip” amid Bitcoin selloffs.

El Salvador plans to build a Bitcoin city with the cryptocurrency used to fund the project. The Bitcoin city would take advantage of the Conchagua volcano’s geothermal energy to power Bitcoin mining.
